Neck has a thin profile but not as much as ibanez guitar i think it is as it should be, fits perfectly to hands and it has a smooth finish.Body is 3 piece Alder and it has strat contours. I can clearly say that Alvarez is far better than it in nearly every aspect(Usa strat just looks a little luxury by means of cosmetically like flamed maple fingerboard but Alvarez sounds and resonants far better than it). I often play it unplugged, acoustic character is very high and rich.I had a chance to compare it to my friend's Fender Usa Deluxe Strat. I got his guitar second hand with fender original vintage tele pickups installed. It has very resonant neck and body.It has an quartersawn neck.It is almost like a semi hollow body(it sounds unplugged as loud as an semi-hollow body) but i know it is not.(very heavy) After 50 years of making guitars, continual improvement through the use of emerging technologies, processes, and materials is still at the heart of our culture.
